What is the nearest airport to Tignes Le Lac?

Transfers from the Airport to Tignes Le Lac?
There is no need to hire a car from the airport to get to Tignes Le Lac if travelling as a family., as all the facilities are on your doorstep or a free shuttle bus option available. There is a car parking available in the town. If hiring a car from Geneva, please ensure you book your car on the French side.
There are also private transfer companies available. We recommend Snow Drone (and can offer 5% off) a private car services from Geneva airport to the resort, using comfortable Mercedes V Class and VW Caravelle vehicles, with wifi and ipads (this is particularly good for families). Snow Drone also offer an extensive range of share transfers which are 75€ pp each way,
Alternatively, if travelling as a group of adults or with kids over the age of 4, there are bus services available from both Geneva, Chambery, and Lyon airport.

Is the apartment family friendly?
The apartment is family and baby friendly. The terrace offers a large outdoor area in the winter and summer months for children to play on. The apartment has a double bed bunk room, which can sleep up to 4 children. There is also a travel cot and high chair available upon request. The apartment is all on one floor, so you don't have to worry about little ones climbing stairs. There are also some fun family games within the apartment if you are the competitive type!

We will be travelling with young children, how close are the nursery slopes to the apartment?
The location of the apartment is ideal for those with young children, as the nursery slopes are around 1-2 min walk (200m). There is also a playground and trampolines within walking distance.
Can we wash clothes while we are there?
There is a washing machine and dryer available for guests to use during your stay. There is also a clothing line in one of the cupboards should you want to hand wash / dry any clothing.

We have a friend passing through Tignes for one night. Can we get hold of a camp bed?
There is a 'bed in a box' (an additional camp bed) in the master bedroom. Please let the concierge service know in advance so that they can arrange extra bed linen for you.

Is there a spa we can use?
The Langley hotel is situated next door to the apartment and offers a spa package of 15 Euros for use of their hot tub, sauna and steam room, with stunning views overlooking the mountains.

I'm a keen cook. Is the kitchen well equipped for cooking?
The kitchen is extremely well equipped if you love to cook! From a quality coffee maker, mixing bowls and baking tins, wine coolers and large serving dishes, it is the perfect apartment for being the hostess with the mostess. The outdoor table and seating lends itself beautifully for long rosé lunches in the sunshine. There is table linen available for use, we just request that you wash, fold and return it before the end of your stay.

Do we have to keep our skis / boots in the apartment?
There is a ski locker in the basement equipped with boot warmers for you to keep your ski gear (skis, poles and boots) safe and secure.

Is there a ski hire shop / supermarket near by?
Yes, the ski hire shop and supermarket are across the road from the apartment. Under the apartment there is a gourmet deli that also sells deliciously homemade beef bourguignon, savoyard soups and cheeses to take away the hassle of cooking after a long day!

For your ski equipment hire, we suggest you to go to Skimium Duch Sports, in the Rue de la Poste , which can be found very closed to the Palafour Ski Lift (opposite the entrance of the apartment). You just have to ask for Valerie or Olivier and you will have a special service and a great 30% discount on your week rental. You also can pre book by email. at duch.sports@orange.fr or directly on line on their website http://www.duch-sports.com.

In the mountains:
La Panoramic - Restaurant at the top of the glacier. Book for a memorable and sensational meal, fantastic setting, brilliant wine list and a Michelin, Val Claret (need to book in advance). Not so kid friendly.
La Panoramic canteen - Delicious canteen food with a view, Val Claret
Lo Soli - Top of the Chaudannes lift, great food and views. A quick and easy ski down to Tignes
La Folie Douce - A brilliant aprés ski bar with a restaurant attached (la Fruitiere - request for a window seat), Val d'Isére
Peau de Vache - Another special hidden gem in the mountains off piste, sensational meal surrounded by candle light, Val d'Isére (need to book in advance)
Bollin - Family friendly setting, with dining in or outdoors with roaring log fires, by the Bollin lift, Val Claret

In Tignes
L'Escale Blanche - Family friendly restaurant on a lovely big sunny terrace in the heart of Tignes
Les Planches - A lovely sun trap over looking the mountains with in situ table fires and delicous food. Family friendly.
Coeur des Neiges - A sister restaurant to Les Planches, great for lunch but also a fab spot for dinner or night cap on the main high street.
L'Arbina - Situated next to L'Escale Blanch, is L'Arbina, a family friendly restaurant with a big terrace. They do great pizzas.
La Ferme des 3 Capucines - Lovely setting in an old chalet in Lavache, they have a few animals within the restaurant behind glass to add to the theatre. Family friendly and they do the best fondue! Recommend getting the bus from Tignes, or a 15 min walk
La Kaya - If you want a more fancy meal, less alpine and more high end European, head to La Kaya in town
The Marmotte Arms - A little local bar with brilliant live music, perfect for an aprés ski or hot chocolate

Can we get a chef one evening as it is my husbands 40th birthday and we would like to have a special dinner in the apartment?
Celine or Alison from our concierge service can help you with booking a chef for a special birthday treat or surprise.

Is it possible to get breakfast / fresh bread delivered to us each morning?
Please refer to the house guide upon arrival (wooden folder). There is a breakfast delivery service which is available for guests, please contact them directly upon arrival to book your breakfast requests.

What environmental and sustainable considerations have been made to the apartment?
Our philosophy on environmental sustainability, we take seriously. We believe in the mantra, take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints. Doing your little bit whilst on holiday all plays a part in helping the environment. We use low energy saving light bulbs in the apartment, along with eco cleaning produce and recycling rubbish. Whilst staying at Phoenix 101 we encourage you to keep energy consumption to a minimum and use water wisely. The property is well insulated and windows are thickly glazed. We also encourage all our guests to support the local community by supporting local guides, local hire shops and purchase local produce.

In order to receive a star rating, we are regularly inspected by the French Tourist Board and compared with thousands of other properties. If you would like to know more about the criteria for the star rating, please contact us and we would be happy to share it with you.

What is your Covid -19 policy?
If, on the day before arrival, any of the circumstances outlined below apply to your booked dates, and this results in your booking being cancelled, we encourage that you take your own insurance policy that covers Covid-19.
Valid circumstances covered by these Covid-19 cancellation terms are limited to:

official closure of the property due to Covid-19 restrictions

if the government of the country where the property is located, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or to the property, or imposes a mandatory quarantine on arrival

if the government of your country of departure, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or region where the property is located
-
if the government of your country of departure, advises against all non essential travel to the country or region where the property is located, or makes it mandatory to quarantine on return from the property.

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation terms, and the standard cancellation terms will apply. These include, but are not limited to:

an unwillingness to travel

an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)

individual or household stay-at-home orders
These Covid-19 cancellation terms are valid up to the day before arrival. After this date there will be no refund or credit note should Covid-19 have an impact upon your booking.
Your country of departure will be determined by the address used at the time of booking and this address will apply to all parties on the booking.
